Backlit Architectural Features Command Attention at Cooper Surgical

The Client
Cooper Surgical, a medical instruments and devices company, constructed a new office building for its world headquarters in Trumbull, CT. R.D. Scinto contracted with DeCarle Cabinetry to fabricate and install all the executive office and the building lobby millwork. The project was designed by Antinozzi Associates Architects in Bridgeport, CT.

The Challenge
The designs called for a custom reception desk, and for placement of vertical maple architectural features over an acrylic backlit panel spanning the perimeter of the lobby.

The DeCarle Solution
DeCarle developed a fastening system to allow easy removal of the maple features, and each was finished with a custom color to match the architect’s sample.

The team fabricated and installed a custom reception desk created from a combination of stone cladding and Corian® solid surface features.

Result
The completed project was very well received by Cooper Surgical. “R.D. Scinto is dealing with four million square feet of building space, so there’s a lot going on here, but DeCarle projects always come in on time,” says Carey Ouellette, Director of Construction for Scinto. “Their work is superior to anyone we work with; they do a fabulous job.”
