The challenge of this project was to engineer, fabricate and install an “L” shaped 2,000 pound reception desk with stone and Corian® cladding.
Due to the weight and size of the finished desk, it was constructed in place at the jobsite. We used ¼” thick welded 2” x 4” aluminum tube steel members to create a strong, perfectly straight and level lightweight frame to support the weight. The desk was partially mocked up in the DeCarle plant prior to delivery and checked for proper fitting of the intricate parts. The desk was installed in three working days, using a field-constructed clamping system for the Corian® fins.
